However, in the poll, Kenyans have given woman reps a rather poor rating as compared to governors.

The top performing governor in the poll recorded a score of 70 per cent compared to only 50 per cent given to the top Woman rep - Turkana's Cecilia Asinyen and Kirinyaga's Jane Njeri.

Bensouda Atieno (Homa Bay) and Susan Ngugi (Tharaka Nithi) were ranked joint third with a score of 49 per cent.

West Pokot's Rael Chepkemoi, with a score of 48 per cent, rounded off the top five in the best 25 woman reps list according to Infotrak.

Other leaders who made it to the list were Isiolo's Mumina Gollo and Garissa's Amina Udgoon who were ranked joint 24th with a score of 42 per cent.

Dubbed the CountryTrak Performance Index 2023, the survey was conducted between July and September 2023, covering all 47 counties, 290 constituencies and 1,450 wards with an overall sample size of 58, 748.

The data was collected through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI).

"This index is the first of its kind and magnitude in Kenya. It provides the county governments and other interested stakeholders with robust statistics by ward on the perception of county residents over county governors' performance," Infotrak said.
